Description

Made of Tobe porcelain, the Square Base Tea Cup is hand-painted with traditional Japanese design motifs in the Sugiura Koubow Studio in Ehime. Featuring a sculpted base, this tea cup blends modern and time-honored styles that fit comfortably into the palm of your hand.

Hari-awase, meaning to join together, is reflective of Aya Sugiura’s whimsical style of tobeyaki. Hand-stretched and shaped from tatara (slabs of clay), each piece is one-of-a-kind, and its individual parts are made freehand, showcasing each ceramic ware’s individuality.
